From Wind to Wilderness
Dana’s story begins far from the fields. Born in Romania, she spent her formative years soaked in the optimism of the 1990s. At 27, she led the Romanian Wind Energy Association, championing renewable energy long before it became mainstream. It was purposeful work and fulfilling to leave a positive footprint towards the country’s cleaner future.
Years later, when life brought Dana's family to Portugal, it was that same sense of optimism that led them to buy a wasteland scarred by garbage and debris with the intention to create a countryside hub in an authentic farm. Quinta da Bufala took root in 2015, work in progress for many years to come, shaped by talented hands and shaping characters along the way, writing its own story.

A Wild Idea, Cultivated with Care
The land did not yield easily. Seasons passed planting trees, restoring soil, and learning nature’s rhythm. The vision started to come alive with every space built or landscaped, and so did the intention to share it with the world. Then came the buffalos—majestic, grounding, and symbolic of the strength and patience that shaped this place.
What emerged is more than a farm. It is a sanctuary—an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and experience the quiet beauty of life lived in rhythm with nature.

A Place to Gather and Belong
Today, Quinta da Bufala is both a working organic farm and a private destination for gatherings, retreats, and celebrations. Ten years on, it remains guided by a simple belief: when we care for the land, it gives back in abundance.

  • Quinta da Búfala is a versatile farm venue ideal for weddings, celebrations, corporate events, conferences, workshops, and bespoke private gatherings. With a combination of indoor and outdoor spaces, flexible layouts, and year-round heating and cooling in most indoor areas, events can be comfortably hosted in any season.

  • To inquire about availability, simply fill out our online form (hyperlink) or contact us by email at events@quintadabufala.com. We recommend booking as early as possible, though last-minute requests may be accommodated when available. 

    Pricing varies by type of event, date, season, and spaces selected, and we offer tailored packages to suit individual needs. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are outlined in our contract.

  • Our spaces can be booked individually or combined and reconfigured to suit your event format. Venue hire includes exclusive use of the booked space, parking, lighting and sound, an on-site event coordinator, standard cleaning before and after the event, and restroom cleaning during the event. Tables, chairs, and basic furniture are available depending on the space, with additional rentals possible.

  • We offer in-house catering as well as a curated list of trusted catering partners. External caterers may be approved in advance. Menus can be fully customized to accommodate dietary requirements, preferences, and event themes, with guidance from our Food & Beverage Director.

    Bar service is available through our partners, or clients may bring their own beverages, subject to a corkage fee. Fully equipped prep and service kitchens are available for catering teams.

  • All indoor spaces have Wi-Fi and are equipped with high-quality AV systems, including microphones, speakers, TV Screens and a large LED screen in our Events Barn. 

    The venue is accessible for guests with reduced mobility across all ground-floor areas.

    On-site parking is available for up to 40 vehicles, with shuttle drop-off zones and dedicated supplier loading areas. Setup access is coordinated based on event needs.

  • Clients may work with our suppliers or bring their own, subject to prior approval. External rentals and décor are welcome as long as they follow venue guidelines.

    Furniture layouts are flexible, and we also offer a selection of in-house décor and styling support.

  • Quinta da Búfala prioritizes sustainability through seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and responsible practices. Guests and suppliers are encouraged to minimize waste and use recyclable or compostable materials. 

    Animal interactions are only permitted during guided visits. For safety and environmental reasons, candles, fireworks, and confetti are not allowed. Outdoor sound follows local regulations, while indoor events are not subject to strict curfews.
